Terms & Conditions for Registration & Participation

Your registration and participation in Guardian Project's Online Guardianship Workshop is subject to the following terms and conditions:

General Terms

You agree that you are participating in a class that will instruct you on best practices for completing an application for Guardian Advocate with Florida courts for the purpose of becoming the guardian advocate of a person with an intellectual or developmental disability who is turning 18 or has already turned 18, and is a resident of the State of Florida (or will be at the time of filing).

You understand and agree that:

 

  • you are not hiring a law firm or purchasing legal services, and that you will not receive legal services;

  • you will be required to prepare and file your application materials on your own;

  • you will need to appear in court "pro se" (or, on your own behalf), and that no employee, partner of Guardian Project will do this for you.

You agree further that:

  • your child for which you seek guardianship has a diagnosed developmental or intellectual disability that is not reasonably likely to be cured in their lifetime;

  • the child for which you seek guardianship is a resident of the State of Florida (or will be at the time of filing);

  • you do not reasonably believe that your application for guardianship will be contested or disputed or challenged, by either the child's other parent, a family member or the child themselves; and

  • you will not be disqualified from serving as guardianship because you have either was convicted or please guilty or no content to a felony, or misdemeanor charge for a violent crime, or have been found to have committed an act of child abuse by a State administrative agency like DCF.

The Online Guardianship Workshop is not intended for any of the aforementioned scenarios, we will not cover how to handle these situations, and we highly recommend that you retain the services of an attorney duly admitted in the State of Florida.

The Online Guardianship Workshop is offered by Furnari & Associates PC doing business as "Guardian Project".

Limited Guarantee

Parents who register for the Online Guardianship Workshop will have 10 days from the date of registration to cancel their registration and receive a full refund of any amounts paid, less a processing fee of $25.

After such date, participants in the Workshop will not be entitled to any refund of their registration fee.

Disclaimer of Guarantee


Our goal is to help parents who qualify for the Florida Guardian Advocate program to get guardianship without the help of a lawyer. Decisions regarding the timing, frequency and selection of such instruction activities and process will be in Guardian Project's sole and absolute discretion. Notwithstanding the foregoing, each individual’s success depends on a number of subjective qualities, including the your background, dedication, desire and motivation. Guardian Project hereby disclaims any warranty of merchantability, whether express or implied, relating to the Online Guardianship Workshop.


No Warranty is Implied


Guardian Project makes no warranties of any kind regarding the information on this website or in the Online Guardianship Workshop. This content is designed to serve as general information only. Guardian Project expressly disclaims any responsibility for action you may choose to take or avoid as a result of the information you obtain herein or based upon any errors or omissions in such information.

Mandatory Arbitration of Disputes

You, and we, agree that any dispute arising from your participation in the Online Guardianship Workshop, or in connection with this or any other relationship between us, shall be submitted to binding online arbitration before Arbitration Resolution Services, Inc. and conducted in accordance with their rules for commercial arbitration, the cost of which shall be borne by the losing party and added to any final award or judgment. Any arbitration award shall be enforced in any court of competent jurisdiction.
